What to write about

A number that looks wrong

This is the most useful message we get. Please include the calculator, the inputs you entered, and the result you expected. If you can tell us the correct answer and why, we will fix it and credit you on the page.

A project you need a calculator for

If you are planning something the site doesn't cover, tell us the dimensions and what you need to work out. Requests like this often become new tools.

A correction to a guide or chart

Building codes and lumber standards are revised. If a table or guide on this site is out of date, we want to fix it.

Advertising and partnerships

We do not accept paid placements that affect calculator results. If your product genuinely helps someone build something and you have a relevant proposal, write to the same address.

What we cannot do

We do not provide engineering or design advice, we cannot tell you whether a structure is safe, and we cannot tell you whether your project will pass inspection. For anything load-bearing, talk to your building department or a licensed engineer. For permit questions, your local building department is the only authority.

Response times

Corrections are prioritized. General questions usually get an answer within three to five days. Sponsored or promotional requests may take longer.
